Chicken Shack é uma banda de blues rock formanda no começo dos anos 60.
A banda era composta por: Christine Perfect (vocal e teclados), Stan
Webb (guitarra e vocal), Andy Sylvester (baixo) e Alan Morley (bateria).
O primeiro show deles foi mesmo em 1967 mesmo no National Blues and Jazz
Festival e eles conseguiram contrato com a Blue Horizon no mesmo ano.
A banda teve considerável sucesso quando Christine Perfect foi votada
como melhor Vocal Feminino no Melody Maker.
Ela deixou a banda em 1969 quando ela se casou com John McVie da banda
Fleetwood Mac; depois, o pianista Paul Raymond, Andy Silvester (baixista), e o
baterista Dave Bidwell deixaram a banda em 1971 para formar a Savoy Brown.
Tanto Feltwood Mac como Savoy Brown são mais famosas que Chicken Shack, mas
isso não significa que não valha a pena escutar Chicken Shack.
Apesar da banda ter tido outras mudanças para continuar gravando, nunca
conseguiu o mesmo sucesso dos álbuns anteriores. No começo eram mais Blueseiros
e depois que Christine saiu souberam misturar muito bem o Blues com outros
estilos.
